  • You will have the opportunity to lead the supply/demand side operational risks and development of optimized infrastructure solutions associated with energy spend.
  • You will provide utility and engineering expertise to support infrastructure projects that affect energy use.
  • Bring your knowledge of facility operations to support facility infrastructure databases –especially capital equipment—including equipment age, condition, serviceability, and operational criticality as it relates to energy optimization and system conservation measures. 
  • You will serve as an engineering consultant to field personnel, vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure capital projects are designed and delivered according to specifications. 
  • Bring your energy expertise to build short and long-range facility capital plans in pursuit of energy reduction, improved system reliability, and operational risk mitigation.

        Medical Facilities Infrastructure Master Planning

  • Supports the collection and maintenance of facility infrastructure equipment (facility controls, HVAC, and power plant infrastructure) databases.
  • Assist in the development of energy and facility infrastructure master plans across the portfolio.
  • Develop energy and facility infrastructure capital projects by assessing, developing, executing, and tracking the results of capital projects.
  • Collaborate with Medxcel Facilities’ team to evaluate, rank, and prioritize capital project requests.
  • Assist on-site management with ensuring the customer’s program understanding, customer satisfaction, strategic partnering, and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Able to assess infrastructure equipment condition and potential longevity.
  • Develop and nurture key customer relationships to create a high degree of loyalty to Medxcel Facilities in addition to local operations.
  • Be visible and available to key customer leadership during frequent site visits. 

 Team and Project Development

  • Collaborate with and coach other Project Developers with respect to establishing best practices and design standards.
  • Provide direction for the on-going development of the Project Development function and strategic direction of the capital planning process.
  • Provide support in mentoring corporate office and field operations leaders across the nation with an emphasis on operational excellence, developing existing and future talent, mentoring and inspiring performance, and enabling on-site leaders to succeed.
  • Mentor and encourage existing and future field operations talent in the areas of problem solving, inspire ever-improving performance, and enable field operations to succeed.




  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering or closely-related field or equivalent experience required
  • Professional Engineering license preferred 


  • 4-8 years of experience in facilities and energy engineering project development; extensive healthcare experience required 
  • Thorough knowledge of healthcare facility operations, processes, and procedures with a strong emphasis on customer service
  • Robust experience in healthcare HVAC, central plant, lighting, and building automation system design and operations
  • Diverse energy and infrastructure project development skills
  • Comprehensive experience in facility and energy master planning
  • Ability to perform Infrastructure condition assessment and analysis
  • Strong background in engineering economics, life-cycle cost analysis, and cash flow analysis
  • Foundation in risk management for health care facility operations
  • Certified Energy Manager designation is beneficial
  • Strong experience in Commissioning and Retro-commissioning practices
  • Experienced in non-traditional energy project funding mechanisms
  • Travel – 35% (overnight required)

  • Working knowledge of hospital operations and hierarchy of leadership
  • Negotiation skills
