Located in beautiful Weston, Wisconsin, you will serve as the lead for the Fire Systems Team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the execution of testing, and inspection of Fire Systems and equipment. You will focus on Fire Sprinkler Inspection and Testing. As the subject matter expert on Fire Systems, you will ensure the team and facility meets national, state, and local regulatory requirement. All while making a difference in the patient experience!

Fire System Testing and Inspection

• Works independently and provides direction for Fire and Life Safety Systems Technicians I and II in performing preventive and routine maintenance on campus fire detection/alarms, battery operated emergency lighting systems, and fire suppression systems to include dry pipe, wet pipe, pre-actions, deluge, FM200, kitchen fire suppression, smoke evacuation, and other life safety systems
• Monitors and maintains the operation and integrity of fire and life safety systems
• Responsible or troubleshooting and correcting complex problems with all life safety systems to include fire detection/alarm, fire suppression systems, fire pumps, fire systems troubles and fire alarms response. Also, conducts follow up investigations to determine the cause of fire systems alarms and to ensure/verify the proper operation of fire and life safety systems
• Performs code required maintenance, testing and inspections of facility fire and life safety systems. Also assists and directs contractors with required fire and Life Safety inspections and with correction all resulting deficiencies.
• Completes departmental reports and documentation to include gathering data through field measurements and observations, analysis and various research methods
• Reads and interprets blue prints, schematics and specifications to maintain functionality of campus systems, ensure compliance, provide plan reviews and input for campus projects.
• Conducts quality control inspection for work completed by Life Safety Technician I, IIs, and contractors
• Investigates life safety code compliance issues and performs follow-up communications, actions and documentation.
• Accompanies local and state fire inspectors during campus inspections.
• Will assist or lead the maintenance/repair of any Life Safety Systems and equipment.
• Assist in maintaining up-to-date as-built drawings for all life safety systems, including, fire suppression systems, fire/smoke dampers and fire/smoke construction. 

Fire System Management

• Trains employees on fire and life safety systems
• Provides supervision of Fire Systems Technicians I and IIs in the absence of the Life Safety Manager
• Assist and participate in special projects as assigned

Education and Work Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in healthcare preferred
• Trade school, Apprentice program or equivalent experience - minimum 8 years’ experience in fire protection systems required
• NICET II Certification in one or more of the following, Fire Protection Engineering, Water Based Systems Layout, Fire Alarm Systems Testing, Water Based Systems testing, OR State Licensed Fire Alarm Technician OR Licensed Sprinkler Fitter required
• Valid driver’s license is required. Must be able to be insured for driving company vehicles as applicable to duties.
• Experience with testing, inspections, installation and maintenance of fire suppression and detection systems is required.
• Specific knowledge and experience Simplex and Siemens fire alarms System. Also, possess essential knowledge of building operations to include HVAC controls and utilities systems.
• Six years of experience in the inspection, maintenance, testing and repair of fire alarm and/or fire protection systems and sprinkler systems
• Trade License in Fire Alarm or Sprinkler Fitting and/or technical associates degree or certificate in electronics, fire systems NICET II, and Fire Inspector) or electrical trade. NFPA course work and certifications (NFPA 13, 20, 25, 72, 96, 17, and 17A) preferred

• Have a working knowledge of applicable National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and life safety requirements.

• Must have working knowledge of hazardous materials standards.
