    The Director of Facilities Compliance and Support leads a team of professional subject matter experts that ensures the compliance of policies, procedures, processes, and training in support of the Facility Management Operating System (FMOS) for Medxcel’s operations across the United States.   The position holds the primary responsibility of assuring, through a team of compliance subject matter experts, that policies, procedures, and protocols successfully enable standardization, optimization, and compliance of facility operations. The Director will lead the support of Medxcel’s regulatory and facility compliance system. The Director is responsible for providing support to the Vice President of Program Development and Facilities Compliance in assessing, updating, and maintaining the Current State Health Assessment (CSHA) model for Medxcel healthcare facilities. The CSHA establishes a baseline conditional assessment for Medxcel operations, assets, and compliance of the Joint Commission’s Physical Environment as well as other accrediting organizations. The assessment includes operational status, life safety assessment/Statement of Conditions, fire safety evaluation systems, the Joint Commission’s Physical Environment compliance reviews, and Life Safety Building Maintenance Programs (BMP), mechanical, plumbing, and electrical systems. The Director provides leadership support and programs to the Start Up/Survey Managers to ensure a smooth transition from a client/customer based facility operation system to Medxcel’s Facility Management Operating Systems (FMOS).

    Responsibilities

    National Innovation and Strategy Management:

    • Provide effective leadership in the support of Medxcel’s platform of operations and compliance programs in meeting the requirements for The Joint Commission (TJC), Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), OSHA, state, and local authorities
    • Work effectively with Medxcel executives and other leaders to drive business innovation, service strategies, revenue growth, and continuous improvement processes at the national level to ensure service excellence
    • Provide the support and leadership to a team of subject matter experts that evaluate the Facility Management Operating System (FMOS) which provides the following processes: consolidation of existing programs and documents, standardization of operational and compliance programs across all Medxcel operations, and optimization to solidify a level of operational excellence
    • Lead the Facilities-Regulatory Compliance Team to update, assess, and maintain the Current State Health Assessment (CSHA) program, establishing a baseline operational and compliance assessment for Medxcel healthcare facilities and the local Authority having Jurisdiction (AHJ)
    • Manage and support the team of Regulatory Compliance Directors to ensure operational and regulatory compliance at the facility level
    • Assist Medxcel team to identify operational and financial opportunities within the organization’s Engineering/Facility departments
    • Support and maintain operating protocols for Emergency Management, Safety, Life and Fire Safety, mechanical, electrical, boilers, chillers, generators, hot water and chilled water systems
    • Provide subject matter expertise in the integration, standardization, and compliance of Medxcel’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) - CMS
    • Assist on-site and regional leadership in achieving high performance through the support and execution of controls designed to allow leadership to meet service delivery objectives and create high customer satisfaction
    • Perform in-depth quality reviews of site operations using the tools provided by Medxcel and establish on-going plans, goals, and objectives to correct deficiencies and improve performance
    • Participate in the establishment and approval of training, staffing, and resource plans and monitor performance relative to such plans

    Customer Relationship Management:

    • Create, support, and maintain assessment and measurement tools that allow exceptional customer relationship
    • Collaborate with Medxcel team to create and deliver training programs for engineering leadership and associates
    • Assist and support on-site leadership with identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities
    • Conduct periodic business and compliance reviews with customers
    • Assist on-site management with ensuring the customer’s program understanding, customer satisfaction, strategic partnering, and continuous improvement efforts
    • Develop and nurture key customer relationships to create a high degree of loyalty to Medxcel in addition to local operations
    • Be visible and available to key customer leadership during frequent site visits

    • Mentor team and field operations leaders across the nation with an emphasis on operational excellence, developing existing and future talent, mentoring and inspiring performance, and enabling on-site leaders to succeed

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or management required (or equivalent experience 25 years with no degree) required
    • MBA or graduate degree preferred

    License/Certification:

    • Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) and/or Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP) preferred

    Experience Required:

    • 15+ years’ experience working in healthcare facilities management or field management in healthcare facilities outsourcing
    • 10 years’ managerial experience with emphasis on leading a business
    • Experience leading and mentoring healthcare directors and executives
    • Experience in leading and supporting healthcare organizations in their efforts toward regulatory compliance and operational excellence
    • Experience in the organization of startup processes that implement Facilities Operating and Computer Maintenance Management Systems
    • Experience in developing service and training programs, with an emphasis on TJC, CMS and engineering systems

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Working knowledge of medical facility systems and equipment
    • Negotiation skills
    • Strategic capability in financial planning, resource allocation, analysis, and business process development and improvement
    • Project management skills including coordination, communication, prioritization, troubleshooting, adherence to budget and completion goals, and recruiting resources
    • Travel: 60 - 80% (overnight required)
